Platform Engineer

Location: Sarajevo 

Work model: Hybrid (3 days from the office, 2 days remote) 
 

Build and improve the platform behind business-critical applications as a Platform Engineer at Starbyte. You will work with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, automation, and observability to make the platform more reliable, scalable, and easier for development teams to use. 

This role gives you the opportunity to strengthen Starbyte’s platform environment, contribute to a modern observability setup, and gradually take broader ownership of the infrastructure behind the systems you support.

What will your day look like? 

You’ll start by working closely with development teams and learning the applications, infrastructure, and CI/CD pipelines they use every day. From there, you’ll increasingly contribute to observability while taking on broader platform engineering responsibilities. 

• Work with GCP and Kubernetes-based environments and improve the platform used by development teams 

• Maintain and improve infrastructure through Terraform, GitOps, and automation 

• Work with CI/CD pipelines and support reliable application delivery 

• Improve monitoring, dashboards, alerting, metrics, traces, and logs 

• Collaborate with development teams on instrumentation, troubleshooting, and platform improvements 
   

You are the right candidate if… 

• You have practical experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) 

• You have hands-on experience with Kubernetes 

• You have worked with Terraform or another infrastructure-as-code approach 

• You have experience with CI/CD pipelines and Grafana 

• Experience with Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, or Flux would be an advantage
