A new healthcare tech company is coming to Sarajevo! 🚀

Take ownership of a production cloud platform as a Senior DevOps & Platform Engineer. You will work across cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, observability, and platform security, keeping a critical healthcare SaaS product secure, stable, and ready for continuous delivery.

This is a senior hands-on role with real ownership. You won’t just maintain infrastructure. You will help build a professional platform engineering capability from the ground up.

About the company

An international product company is opening its first engineering hub in Sarajevo, and it’s looking for the people who will build it from day one.

The company builds a modern healthcare SaaS platform that is already used every day by real care providers. It’s part of a large, well-established healthcare organization, and the platform runs on a modern cloud-native stack, with no legacy code. The environment is centered around Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, microservices, event-driven integrations, CI/CD, observability, and cloud data services.

The first hires will form the core of the Sarajevo team and help shape how it works. The company name will be shared with shortlisted candidates.

Why should you apply?
  • Own the platform behind a product that care organizations rely on every day
  • Work with GCP, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD, and modern observability tooling
  • Work on a product with real impact: less paperwork for care workers means more time for the people they care for
  • Learn from people with long experience in the healthcare field
What will your day look like?

At the start, you will take over the current platform, learn how it works, and keep it running without outages. Over time, you will improve and grow it. You will report to the Engineering Lead and be their trusted platform owner, handling day-to-day operations and escalating only the right risks.
  • Own the setup, operation, maintenance, reliability, and security of the cloud platform, infrastructure, and environments
  • Build and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform or similar tools
  • Operate and improve Kubernetes environments, including workload configuration, scaling, security, and stability
  • Maintain CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, source control integration, artifact management, and engineering support tools
  • Make sure monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability tools are properly set up and actively used
  • Act as the technical responder for platform alerts, incidents, and infrastructure issues, and give clear visibility into platform health and risks
  • Support release readiness by checking environments, configurations, secrets, access, integrations, and dependencies
  • Apply security controls consistently, including access control, secrets management, network configuration, environment isolation, hardening, and least privilege
  • Work closely with software engineering, QA, data, architecture, release, delivery, and product teams on microservice deployments, event-driven integrations, and production readiness
  • Help the Engineering Lead improve deployment reliability, automation, incident response, and operational maturity
  • Document platform setup, procedures, incident response steps, infrastructure decisions, and known risks
  • Use AI-assisted tools to improve troubleshooting, automation, documentation, and productivity
You are the right candidate if you...
  • Have around 10 years of experience building and operating cloud platforms or infrastructure, including 5+ years in DevOps practices, tooling, and automation (depth matters more than the exact number)
  • Have worked as a Principal or Senior DevOps Engineer, Cloud Engineer, Platform Engineer, SRE, or similar, supporting production SaaS platforms
  • Have strong cloud experience, ideally with GCP, while strong AWS or Azure experience is also relevant
  • Understand cloud architecture, environment design, networking, IAM, security controls, scalability, and resilience
  • Have strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes, containers, Terraform or similar, CI/CD, monitoring, and incident response
  • Understand microservices, event-driven architecture, APIs, asynchronous messaging, and distributed systems
  • Have worked in Agile teams and with distributed teams across multiple locations
  • Can explain risks and trade-offs clearly, turn problems into clear action plans, and raise operational standards
  • Speak fluent English
  • Experience with healthcare or regulated SaaS, data protection and auditability, SRE principles, disaster recovery and backups, Node.js, TypeScript or Angular, Jira, Confluence or Bitbucket, and AI tools like GitHub Copilot is a strong plus
